"Refresh"
Your Affiliate Program Links
To Show You Mean Business!

If there's one thing that potential
clients look for in a product or service's representation,
it's professionalism.
A poorly designed website, text misspellings, "over the top" promotion
techniques
(ex: "MAKE $$$$$$ NOW!!!!), etc., are all major turn offs, and it will
show in your click through to purchase ratio, if you manage to get them
to your site at all.
This META REFRESH tip will help you get them there, associating the
link with your site, giving potential customers the impression that
it is unique (after that, it's up to you!).
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must be able
to upload files to your site's server.
When you are assigned an affiliate
link from a program provider, it is often very long,
and generic in appearance. Using the following technique will change
that:
Copy and paste the following code
into an HTML editor and save it to your web server as whateveryoulike.html
.
<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>YourAffiliateProgramTitle</TITLE>
<META http-equiv="refresh" content="0;
url="http://YourAffiliateProgramsURL">
</HEAD><BODY BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF"></BODY></HTML>
After you save this as whateveryoulike.html,
and upload the file to your server, you will be able to link to the
program with this URL:
http://www.Yourdomain.com/whateveryoulike.html
This will help raise your campaign
a notch above the other affiliates using the traditional methods.
Another benefit to using this technique is the ability to track your
ads.
You can save your page as whateveryoulike1.html, whateveryoulike2.html,
etc., giving each campaign a different promotion code, and enabling
you to find out which one is drawing the best responses.
Making each ad your own is an important part of generating a positive
web presence.
Using these techniques, and writing your own ad text in preference to
the that which the provider has generated for you, are important steps
to a successful campaign.
