7 Tips To E-Mail Marketing Success

by Mike Merz,Top 5: The Affiliate Program Source

Putting together the proper e-mail message to send to your potential customers, can either make or break your campaign.
Here is a checklist you can use to see if it meets the necessary standards:
  1. Always provide a From: address (recipients want an address to reply back to).
  2. Make your Subject: line short, straightforward, and to the point (and stay away from sensationalism, like "Make $1,000,000 in your spare time !").
  3. "Hook" or "sell" the reader in the first sentence or two (think of the most important reasons that your potential customer will want this product/service).
  4. Content should focus on providing information as opposed to directly selling (in other words, you want to put the prospect in a "comfort zone". Instead of forcing sales info on them, build trust by showing how your product or service will benefit them.)
  5. Include a link to your website. (which leads right into...)
  6. Always include a sig. (signature) file, with your company name, description, site address, and e-mail address (the easiest free publicity there is, everything you send out should include this).
  7. Always provide a way for your recipient to "opt out", or decline future mailings (This provides a "backdoor" (escape) for the recipient; just having it there gives validity to your message).

Well, that's it. Plug these tips into each message you author and I'm sure you'll start to see positive results.
